ACBSP Executive Director/CEO Douglas Viehland Retires February 28

Douglas G. Viehland, CAE, has been Executive Director/CEO of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) since 2003. Viehland announced his decision to retire last June, at the conclusion of the ACBSP Annual Conference in Chicago.
Viehland led the association through a period of tremendous change and significant growth. In September 2001, ACBSP had 416 member campuses, 269 of which were accredited. ACBSP currently has 1,315 member campuses, 997 of which are accredited with 226 more in candidacy for accreditation. The association has undergone a name change, a capital campaign, purchased headquarters office space in Overland Park, Kansas, and expanded its global reach, adding offices in Brussels, Belgium and Lima, Peru. 
With 12 years of service, Viehland is the longest standing executive director in ACBSP’s 25-year history.
