ACBSP Grants Accreditation to 35 Colleges and Universities in Six Countries

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs - ACBSP, partner institution of CLADEA, has granted initial accreditation or reaffirmation of accreditation to 31 colleges and universities in six countries.

The ACBSP Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners and Associate Degree Board of Commissioners meet twice a year in Kansas City, MO, USA, to review the quality and integrity of business degree programs at colleges and universities seeking ACBSP accreditation.

In April, the two Boards granted initial accreditation to the business programs at:

-        Argosy University (Multiple Campuses, USA)                              

-        British Columbia Institute of Technology (B.C., Canada)                                                

-        C.K. Shah Vijapurwala Institute of Management (India)

-        California Baptist University – Division of Online and Professional Studies (California, USA)

-        Craven Community College (North Carolina, USA)        

-        Douglas College (British Columbia, Canada)

-        Fisk University (Tennessee, USA)

-        Moravian College (Pennsylvania, USA)

-        Morrisville State College (New York, USA)

-        MSB Montreux School of Business (Switzerland)

-        Northern New Mexico College (New Mexico, USA)

-        Philadelphia University (Philadelphia, USA)

-        Rochester Community and Technical College (Minnesota, USA)

-        Universidad Autónoma de Asunción (Paraguay)

-        Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon – School of Business (Mexico)

-        University of Hawai’i Kapi’olani Community College (Hawaii, USA)

-        University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (Philadelphia, USA)

-        Wallace Community College Selma (Alabama, USA)

-        William Woods University (Missouri, USA)

In April, the Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners granted separate accounting accreditation to the programs at:

-        American Public University System (Multiple Campuses, USA)

-        Southeastern University (Florida, USA)

-        William Woods University (Missouri, USA)

American Public University System, Southeastern University, and William Woods University join 10 other schools that hold this distinction. LaGrange College (GA) was the first to achieve separate accounting accreditation from ACBSP in 2010.

Colleges and universities initially accredited by ACBSP must undergo a process of reaffirmation every 10 years in order to maintain accredited status. In November, the two Boards granted reaffirmation of accreditation to:

-        Bronx Community College — CUNY (New York, USA)

-        California Baptist University – Jabs School of Business (California, USA)

-        Columbus State Community College — CUNY (Ohio, USA)

-        Community College of Rhode Island (Warwick, Rhode Island, USA)

-        Dakota State University (South Dakota, USA)

-        Fairmont State University (West Virginia, USA)

-        Governors State University (Illinois, USA)

-        Johnson County Community College (Kansas, USA)

-        Kansas City Kansas Community College (Kansas, USA)

-        Louisiana College (Louisiana, USA)

-        Millikin University (Illinois, USA)

-        Northwest State Community College (Ohio, USA)

-        Oklahoma City Community College (Oklahoma, USA)

-        Pratt Community College (Kansas, USA)

"These campuses have shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process. The initial accreditation and reaffirmation of accreditation granted to these institutions demonstrates their commitment to provide the highest quality business education for their students," said Dr. Steve Parscale, ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer.

ACBSP accredits all business programs at all degree levels, from associate degrees in accounting and other business disciplines to doctorate degrees in management.
