The University of Richmond, member institution of CLADEA, has announced the appointment of Miguel Quiñones as the university’s next dean of the Robins School of Business.

“We are fortunate that Miguel Quiñones has agreed to lead Robins and I know he is excited to do so,” said Jeff Legro, executive vice president and provost. “Mickey understands the Robins School’s commitment to students and a transformative education. He has a strong record of building programs and bringing people together to accomplish significant aims".

“I am thrilled to be joining this exceptional community of teacher-scholars and look forward to working collaboratively in order to build on a tradition of excellence in business education within a world-class liberal arts university,” said Quiñones. “Since the issues facing our world today do not fit within clean disciplinary and geographic boundaries, tomorrow’s business leaders must draw upon the collective knowledge and inspiration found across the university and beyond to address our most pressing problems and capitalize on emerging opportunities. I believe that the Robins School is uniquely positioned to lead in this rapidly changing world.”

He has received numerous teaching awards including the George R. Brown Award for Superior Teaching at Rice University and the MBA Outstanding Teaching Award at SMU Cox. In 2014, he was named an Altshuler Distinguished Teaching Professor at SMU for teaching effectiveness.
