XLIV CLADEA Annual Conference
November 4 to 7, 2009
Guayaquil, Ecuador
The Organizing Committee of the Doctoral Consortium, CLADEA and the Business School of the Universidad del
Pacifico are pleased to invite doctoral students in Management and related programs to participate in the VII
Doctoral Consortium (Doctoral Consortium) which will be held at the Universidad del Pacifico, Guayaquil,
Ecuador, from November 4 to November 7, 2009.
The purpose of this Consortium, which is a pre-conference of the XLIV Annual Assembly of CLADEA, is to offer doctoral students the
opportunity to share and discuss their doctoral research papers with a panel of prestigious internationally renowned scholars.
The Consortium consists of a series of concurrent sessions, organized according to the thematic topics that are being researched by
the doctoral candidates, during which three or four doctoral students will present their dissertation proposals. The panel members will
provide participants with guidelines and suggestions that will help them to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their proposals, to
improve their contents, and to prepare themselves to defend their final thesis dissertations before the examining jury. The Consortium
will also provide doctoral candidates with the opportunity of meeting the deans and professors of prestigious universities that participate
in the CLADEA meeting. Additionally, a complementary session that will focus on existing opportunities to develop an academic career is
being considered and should be confirmed shortly.
The doctoral projects submitted to the Consortium will be subject to a blind review process by an international jury whose members will
select the papers that meet the requirements mentioned below. The selected proposals will participate in the simultaneous sessions that will
be organized according to thematic areas.
After the presentations, each of which will take approximately twenty minutes, the members of the panels will comment and discuss the conceptual
and methodological aspects of each paper, as well as the performance of the doctoral candidate during his/her presentation. As previously
mentioned, each panel is integrated by distinguished professors who have a vast experience as members of the publishing committees of journals and
reviews, as thesis jury members, and as authors of important publications. Participants taking part in the Assembly are also invited to the Consortium
and to contribute with their comments to achieve the goals of this important academic activity.
In addition to the simultaneous sessions, the Consortium includes the activities that are described in the program below:
